CHAPTER 5: SECRETS, LIES AND LIMO RIDES

The next morning, I was awoken to my door bell ringing repeatedly. I placed my bare feet on the ground and rushed to the door in my sweats and black tank top. “Who is it?”

“It’s Syxx.” Fuck! I rushed back upstairs and undid my ponytail, quickly brushed my teeth, and washed my face before heading back downstairs.

I opened the door to see Syxx standing there with a bouquet of pink and white roses. He remembered that pink was my favorite color, ahh Syxx.

“What’s all this?”

“I wanted to celebrate my win with my favorite girl.” He walked closer and kissed me on the cheek.

I grabbed the flowers and looked behind him. “Is that a limo Syxx?”

Syxx turned his head as a driver stood by the door. “Yeah, it just happens to be.”

“What are you planning in that crazy mind of yours Syxx. I know that limo isn’t for me, is it?” Syxx laughed a bit and then went back to the limo’s backseat. He then came back out with a red dress, heels, and a small box.

“Not only is the limo yours for today but, also, I thought that maybe before I took you on a date, you’d want a new dress to go along with it.”

This man was trying so hard; I was so taken aback by it all. Syxx opened the box to reveal a diamond karat bracelet that shined harder than the sun did. The red dress and heels seemed like a perfect fit and that limo was very eye catching.

“What is all this about Syxx?”

Syxx stroked my hair and placed the bracelet on my wrist. “Look Chrissy. When I said that I cared about you and that I loved you, I wasn’t joking. This is just an example of what I’m willing to do for you. The moment I won that championship game and I checked my phone to hear a voicemail from you, I knew that you were feeling the same way about me. This chemistry between us is undeniable and, if you just give me the opportunity to take you on one date, I guarantee you that you will never have to worry about being hurt ever again.”

“But what about August?”

Syxx shook his head and threw his arms in the air. “Why isn’t August here right now Chrissy? Because he’s too busy celebrating with his groupies. I want to be here with you; you’re the only thing that matters to me.”

I thought it over for a second before finally giving in. “Okay, okay. You have yourself a date. Just one date though. You better hope this dress fits perfectly.”

I went back upstairs to shower and got changed. Once I placed the dress on, I looked into the mirror to see that the dress looked so beautiful on me. The heels made me feel like Cinderella or some shit, and the bracelet just gave everything an enchanting touch. I couldn’t lie; Syxx had amazing taste.

I walked back downstairs with the feeling as if I were going to prom and allowed Syxx to walk me to the limo.
